About Love Burlesque

My fascination with burlesque started a couple of years ago when I saw Miss Beeby performing in the Amsterdam Supper Club. As I saw those tassles swirling around I admired 'wow, how does she do that!!!' Miss Beeby regularly teaches burlesque workshops and recently I attended one of her classes to learn, among other moves, how to 'gracefully remove one's stocking'. Oooh yeah!!

My love of alternative clothing started during the early years of the gothic scene in England. I was still at school and lived with my grandparents. Imagine how thrilled to bits I was when they bought me a sewing machine,  overlocker and dressmakers dummy one christmas! I used to earn my 'going out money' by designing and making clothes for my school friends. More than anything I loved to make beautiful, corset-style, boned tops with lots of lace.

While at university I continued my creative sewing while I worked as a seamstress for Homburg's theatrical costumiers of Leeds, England. Actually I starting sewing at the very young age of 8, making doll's clothes from the scraps of fabrics left over from my mum's sewing projects. 

My passion for beautiful, feminine, sexy clothing was reignited after becoming fascinated with burlesque. The gorgeous sparkly, feminine costumes were just too much for my imagination and it wasn't long before I started my very own burlesque-inspired clothing boutique that you're looking at right now: Love Burlesque. It wasn't long after the launch of Love Burlesque that I started designing clothing and in April I launched my own label, Bite Me Couture

I have been shopping far and wide and have brought together a stunning collection of burlesque-style clothing, shoes and accessories. Most of our corsets look fantastic for every day wear, and can be stylishly toned down by wearing with more casual items like jeans.
